Executive Chef Lanydrek “Christ” Pandzou
Leading the innovative culinary team at Colony South Hotel and SWEETGRASS is Executive Chef Christ. Originally from Pointe Noire/Republic of Congo in Central Africa, moved to France a young age where developed the love for cooking living in a farm with his grandparents and exposed to culinary world.
He studied Culinary Arts & Sciences and Restaurant Management at the Academi Culinair de France, and later start working under multiple Chefs. Combining his farmer experience with work in hospitality locally and across the world, Chef Christ continues to create distinct flavor combinations that celebrate authentic locals, regional and world cuisine.
Honored by his talent Chef Christ believes in sourcing local ingredients. Locally grown produce and cheese from expert craftsman play a major role in his menu development, for which he constantly seeks out the freshest and best ingredients.
In addition, he reflects the Enchantment team’s philosophy of involvement in charitable efforts by contributing time and talent to various causes such as less fortunate in Africa, a national nonprofit devoted to ending childhood hunger in America. By participating in fundraising events like Taste of the Nation®, Christ helps give back to the world in which he’s found creative satisfaction.
At Sweetgrass, we take a lot of quality time to prepare our foods. Especially when it come to our ingredient, which is personally and locally picked by our Executive Chef in the morning or most of the time every day in the week.
We spend a lot of labor, a lot of time, passion, sweat and tears to make sure that every plate that comes out in the dining room are perfect.
Sweetgrass Restaurant specializes in “Low Country Cuisine”. Mainly specializes in items such as:
- Pulled Pork Sandwiches
- Mac n’ Cheese
- Shrimp and Grits
Sweetgrass patio is an amazing venue. It has seating for up to 160 guests and an amazing view overlooking the lake. So whether for Graduation Party or Family Reunion or you just want to join us for Happy Hour out on the patio.
Our Private Dining Room holds anywhere from 50 – 60 people so whether for Family Reunion or wedding reception, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time. The space also has perfect lighting and a wood burning fire place. We look forward to seeing you in our private dining room.
